Torelli: Sonata for Trumpet in D major (Nr.1)

Torelli's masterpiece was performed by Miss Fruzsina Hara (baroque trumpet) and Mr. István Ruppert (organ) at a tribute concert to celebrate the 70th birthday of Ms. Éva Nagyiván, the beloved trumpet teacher of generations in Hungary. She was the assisstant professor of trumpet at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music Teachers' Training College in Győr for a decade while she had been teaching at music schools and music high schools (secondary schools) in the cities of Veszprém and Budapest for her entire active life. She is the co-writer of a four volume trumpet tutor (Varasdy−Nagyiván−Sztán: Trombitaiskola) which serves as the basis of the elementary curriculum of trumpet teaching not only in Hungary, but the first two books of it in France as well. About the performers: Miss Hara studied trumpet playing at elementary level under the direction of Ms. Nagyiván in Budapest. Later she attended the Leo Weiner Secondary School of Music, Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, Royal College of Music, London and Amsterdamse HS voor de kunsten. Now she works on her doctorate in Karlsruhe as the student of Reinhold Friedrich. She specialized on baroque instruments. Mr. Ruppert is the head of Széchenyi University Tibor Varga Institute of Musical Arts. He teaches organ playing at this institute and at the Franz Liszt Music Academy Budapest, too. The concert was held on 19th of June 2010 at the University Concert Hall of Széchenyi University Tibor Varga Institute of Musical Arts (formerly Synagogue) in Győr, Hungary.
