Y'know, I was going to come up with a quirky intro bit, except I made the mistake of playing this extension. Eighteen minutes later, I've snapped out of a happy little music haze, and decided to forego the usual routine. You know the drill by now, yeah?

Suikoden is a semi-famous game series consisting of five main entries, and a series of side games, all of which are very, -very- loosely based on a classical Chinese novel "Shui Hu Zhuan", which is translated and pronounced as... wait for it.

Suikoden! I'll give you a moment to recover from your shock. Doo-de-doo... okay, moving on. Developed and published by Konami, the series is renowned for many things, ranging from features, to story telling, to characters, to really awesome music. So awesome, in fact, they've released a number of cool music collection CDs, in styles ranging from Asian to Orgel (music box) and of course, Celtic. Yay Celtic!

The Main Theme from Genso Suikoden #1, as arranged by Yoko Ueno for GSCC, is perhaps the best version of the recurring series leitmotif that I've ever heard. It was already an incredible theme to begin with, having been used... was it five times in the first game alone? Could be more.

As a geeky sidenote, I've made it my personal mission to collect every iteration of it from the day I first heard it; happily enough, I believe I've succeeded. You can imagine how incredibly thrilled I was when I found a way to extend this track; hopefully, you'll enjoy listening to it as much as I still am right now. For twenty five minutes?! Wowie. I really do love this theme! (Don't be jealous, Skies of Arcadia. You'll always be dear to my heart, too.)

Heh. How is that I love Suikoden music so much, yet this is only the second extension related to the series that I've ever done? Weird. I suppose I can work on that at some point. In the mean time, this marks the final upload for the week; I'll see you all again next weekend, or whenever you happen to peruse my extensions and decide to read these descriptions.
