This is the original recording of "That'll Be The Day" from 1956; though Decca shelved it and the famous 1957 Brunswick version was released first and became a hit. After the Brunswick version became a hit, Decca released their version from the shelf, but they were a dollar short and a day late.

This Decca version of "That'll Be The Day" is somewhat hard to find, because most Buddy Holly CDs have the far more common Brunswick version, which is considered to be the standard version. However, if you would like to have the Decca version on CD; I know for sure that it is on "The Great Buddy Holly" (MCAD-31037).
