2001年、アルバム「nu jazz」にて鮮烈なデビューを果たしたギタリスト小沼ようすけ。その後6枚のアルバムをリリース、ジャズだけにとどまらないジャンルを超えて魅力を放つなギター・サウンドと、誰もが認める確かなテクニック、そして誰からも愛される人柄から日本 ジャズ・シーンにおいて不動の人気ギタリストの座を確立した。
そして小沼ようすけ4年ぶりのニュー・アルバム「GNJ」はT5Jazz Records移籍第一弾。
タイトル「GNJ」はGreen Note Jazz の略。ジャズの音を表すBlue Noteに、小沼ようすけがここ数年意識しているオーガニックでナチュラルな音を掛け合わせた造語「Green Note」。そして、小沼ようすけの原点であるジャズをこれまで以上に意識しつつ、デビュー・アルバムである「nu jazz」から発展し、今年40歳を迎える小沼ようすけが新たに原点回帰的なスタートを切ろうというタイトルが「GNJ」(Green Note Jazz)なのです。

Guitarist Yosuke Onuma made his impressive debut with album nu jazz in 2001 from Sony Music Japan. Ever since, he has established his profile as the most popular guitarist in the Japanese jazz scene, with his fascinating guitar sound that reaches way beyond the realm of jazz, his undisputedly solid technique and his charming personality that anyone cannot but love.
GNJ, his first album in four years, is also his first from T5Jazz Records. The title is the abbreviation of “Green Note Jazz”. “Green Note” is term coined by Onuma himself, combining the jazz term “blue note” with the organic and natural sound that he has been aware of in recent years. The title implies his intention to stay conscious on jazz, his starting point, more than ever, while evolving from his debut album nu jazz – to make another fresh start from his roots as he turns 40 this year.
GNJ also sees the reunion of Yosuke Onuma and ex-Sony Jazz, now-T5Jazz producer Tadashi Shimizu; they used to work together from Onuma’s debut album up to his fifth, 3, 2, &1, released in 2006. Don’t miss the new Yosuke Onuma sound, more grooving and melodic and jazzy than ever!
