Narada Michael Walden is a Kalamazoo, Michigan born producer, drummer, singer, and songwriter. After working with John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jeff Beck and the Tommy Bolin Band, he embarked on a solo career and released his first LP, "Garden Of Love Light" in 1976. He rode the disco wave to mainstream popularity in 1979 with his LP "Awakening" on the strength of the disco flavored single "I Don't Want Nobody Else (To Dance with You)", and put out a second dance oriented LP "The Dance Of Life" that gave him a pair of hits, "I Shoulda Loved Ya" and "Tonight I'm Alright". He also produced the first Sister Sledge album after they left the Chic powerhouse production team and gave them a disco/dance hit with "All American Girls"/"He's Just A Runaway" that peaked at #6 in 1981. In 1988, he scored his first #1 dance hit with "Divine Emotions". He became a megaproducer in the late 80's and remains one of the finest in the business today. Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, Jermaine Stewart, Starship, Regina Bell, Steve Winwood, Stacy Lattisaw and a huge number of other talents have all benefited from his golden touch. This was the first song of his I ever heard, and thought I could make it a little longer.....reliving that Friday night at the club all over again every time I hear it.
