Gene Clark - If I Hang Around (demo, c. 1966)

A demo recording (the only recording) of this obscure Gene Clark composition. It was issued on the various artists "Byrd Parts 2" compilation in 2003, albeit with new overdubs courtesy of Chip Douglas, a member of the Gene Clark Group. This song appears here with said alterations edited out (to the best of my ability) to restore the recording to its original state, just Gene and his guitar and nothing else.
A theory persists among fans that this song was inspired by Gene's relationship with Michelle Phillips (of The Mamas and The Papas).
