This is the first video in my Georgia State Marching Band/Rock Band series! This is an original song we put together during the evening session at our band camp this year. This song was aimed to be a really aggressive and jam style track with heavy and grooving guitars and lots of drums. I put a lot of emphasis on the groove and used the "Drum fill to a silent 1, Punch on 2" feel with a lot of funky kick tied to choked hat accents to really emphasize that funky, jamming feel. The song was laid out as far as the progressions and transitions from verse to chorus and the genera; flow of the song, but much of the actual playing, especially the guitar/bass/drum solos and the drumming was all improv.
