Finding the right position and moving in transition can be helpful. Leaning forward and taking the pressure off of my vagina was the most helpful. This was during the peak of my transitional stage of labor. Squatting, kneeling, leaning, swaying, hips in a figure 8, twerking, and keeping your hips open can help so much. Gravity is your friend! Being upright during transition was very helpful to me until my body experienced FER and I felt most comfortable reclined. FER is feral ejection reflex. It can be caused from high levels of adrenaline, which would explain why I felt no pain when pushing! I felt my body opening and pushing on its own. This commonly happens during an undisturbed birth. You can transition on the water or on land! Some even find transitioning on the toilet helpful! Do not fear birthing there.
