These two albums were Simone's second and third studio efforts for the Colpix label, from 1961 and '62 respectively. Showcasing some of Nina's finest work both vocally and on the Piano, the first album brings her inimitable sound to an eclectic mix of songs, including those from the likes of Oscar Brown, while she stamps her style on the work of the great Jazz band leader Duke Ellington on the second. She is backed up by Chris White, Al Shackman and Bob Hamilton on disk 1 and Malcolm Dodds singers on disk 2.
