GONE WITH THE WIND - JULIE LONDON & BARNEY KESSEL

Gone with the wind
Gone like a leaf that has blown away
Gone with the wind
My romance has flown away
Yesterday's kisses are still on my lips,
I've had a lifetime of heaven at my fingertips.
But now all is gone,
Gone is the rapture that thrilled my heart,
Gone with the wind,
Gone is the gladness that filled my heart
Just like a flame, love burned brightly,
Then became an empty smoke dream that has gone,
Gone with the wind.
Gone with the wind
Gone with the wind
Gone with the wind
"Gone with the Wind" is a popular song. The music was written by Allie Wrubel, the lyrics by Herb Magidson. The song was published in 1937. A version recorded by Horace Heidt was a #1 song in 1937. Diane E. Holloway, who has written extensively on American popular songs, indicates that the title was inspired by the 1936 publication of the novel Gone with the Wind, and the timing indicates that this is likely. But the lyrics have no connection to the subject matter of the novel, and this song should not be confused with any of the music featured in the 1939 film adaptation.
Resumindo: Embora inspirado no filme, pelo menos o nome, a música nada tem a ver com a história do livro e do filme. O enredo é outro. Valeu pela intenção. E pela voz de Julie London combinada com o violão de Barney Kessel.
