"Today We Go Out to Sea", German sailors' love song composed in 1936 by Herms Niel (1888-1954). Performed by 1st Band of the Infantry Regiment "Greater Germany" (from Berlin) under captain Friedrich Ahlers, with male chorus (probably Berlin Municipal Opera Choir). Recorded in Berlin, 1939.
Additional info: song originally has two strophes; 1st strophe recorded. Notice that it starts with the same tune as Richard Wagner's overture to "The Flying Dutchman".
