"In Rose Garden of Sanssouci", German tango composed in 1929 by Hans Ailbout (1879-1957) and Herms Niel (1888-1954), with lyrics by Herms Niel. Performed by Fred Bird's Orchestra (from Berlin) and sung by Luigi Bernauer. Recorded in Berlin, 1929.
Additional info: song about a spring love and the first kiss with one Mary (Marie), in the Sanssouci Park in Potsdam. The opening bells are playing "Lobe den Herrn", as played by the carillon of the Potsdam Garrison Church at the time. The short bell-tune at 0:34 - 0:38 is "Üb' immer Treu und Redlichkeit", which also used to be played by the carillon of the Potsdam Garrison Church. Song originally has two strophes; only refrain recorded.
