A secret that I want to share with you is that THE BIRTHING MOTHER IS THE AUTHORITY IN THE BIRTH ROOM.

Once a mother figures this out, she gets out of the system and puts herself right into the drivers seat where she belongs. Imagine how scary this is for a system that is literally built on control.

Birthing women are not meant to be backseat drivers with loss of control.
▣
When her sweet baby remained in the frank breech position at, her doctor scheduled a cesarean section and gave her no other option.
▣
Her heart yearned for a natural birth and she had been preparing for it all along.
▣
She mentioned to her provider that she wanted to try to birth her baby vaginally and she was told “no”. But not because her provider didn’t think she could birth her baby vaginally, but because she had never assisted a breech vaginal birth before(👈🏻this is excellent honesty on the providers behalf)

From them on she was determined to make this birth happen because “she made it clear that it wasn’t about me and the best choice for us, it was about her”
▣
She researched and researched vaginal breech births, her sister encouraged her to find a provider who would support her and try.
▣
And that’s what she did, at 39 weeks she switched to a provider who supported her. The very next day, when she could release her stress, her body also let go and she went into labor.

She birthed her baby vaginally and unmedicated like she had dreamed of all along.
▣
She says “My sister videoed the whole birth and I find it incredible looking back on it. But now that I am more knowledgable about Breech Births, I can see there was way too much interference in her Birth. There was a lot of unnecessary pulling and hands on assistance for the birth. The main rule of thumb for Breech births is “Hands off”.”

Although she feels it could of turned out better with less interference, she knows that it was still a positive experience for her in her life and she was very happy and proud to have accomplished something so amazing.
