I hadn't heard of this trio or its leader until I found this video as related to a search for E.S.T. material. I don't usually have "gut reactions" but in this case I did, to Avishai Cohen which I hope is not borne out by evidence. I immediately did not like him because, probably, he reminded me very much of someone whom I admire greatly in many respects, but have a profound distaste for, overall.

I think just naming a trio after one's self is already a bit arrogant. If it's a trio then we should see 3 names, or zero. Not one. But this guy Avishai Cohen happens to have already had a reputation so his name could be there merely for promotional reasons.

Somewhere else on YouTube is this same concert but broadcast from an English speaking television network. In it there is an interview section ahead of the concert wherein Avishai describes their "new member" (I remember hearing "he's only 19 years old") which I assume is the percussionist being as young as he appears to be.

If the taking on of a young band member (as well as the pianist who doesn't look very old) is meant to be an attempt at emulating GoGo Penguin then I'd have to inform Mr. Cohen that he'd better start packing because he's WAY too old for that sort of thing. What GGP is doing can only be done by very young people having not built up prejudices over years and allowing them to work together and constantly be in a state of flux, change and development. Not the characteristics of an old hat.

But, I could be wrong on all counts and I sincerely hope I am. Because I highly doubt even GGP can pull off another miracle like they have now twice in a row.
