It is said that Arturo Toscanini, upon hearing one of their rehearsals in April of the same year, declared I Musici to be the world's finest chamber orchestra. Pina Carmirelli, then, was without a doubt the finest of the finest; the attention to detail and musicianship she displays in this set has remained unequaled in the years since its recording.
