Did you know that many birth workers used to knit during births? The birth worker would purposefully sit in a corner knitting. Not because she was lazy or uninterested in the birth. On the contrary, when a mother would start to worry about how the birth was progressing, she would look over at the birth worker and she would be calmly knitting away. The birth workers calmness and treatment of normalcy would cause mother to relax as well. Allowing mother to tap into her personal power and get out of her “thinking head”.

This was her second birth with Touch Of Osun Midwifery but this time she expressed interest in being more present with the birth and catching her own baby.
