“Innovator of ska music”

Japanese American producer Rei Mastrogiovanni combines ska with indie rock, sample-heavy hip hop, electro synths, breakbeat rhythms, dub bass lines, and extraordinary stadium rock. Vocals are often rapped with an anthemic soulful hook.

If Phoenix, Kanye West, CSS and Fishbone decided to give birth to a new breed of ska music together, it may sound a little bit like Rei Mastrogiovanni…

Born in Osaka, Japan, raised in Oregon, USA, with a strong love for the UK, Rei has roots in various backgrounds, combining the best elements of the 3 countries to create an eclectic, cutting-edge sound.

Rei is also a DJ, international TV show host, event MC, model, interpreter, graphic designer, etc., working in various fields and countries with Tokyo as his home base.

日本を拠点にするベースボーカルSkaミュージシャン。
大阪府堺市出身。実父がイタリア系アメリカ人、実母が関西系日本人。
バイリンガルであり、テレビ番組のMC、ナレーション、海外アーティスト通訳など音楽以外の活動の幅も広い。
ファッションモデルや、DJ、プロデューサー、数々のアーティストの英語詞などもDIYで手がけている。
2015年3月4日にはHallelujah Circus Inc. (SHAKALABBITSが立ち上げた新マネージメントレーベル）の実質第一弾アーティストとしてソロアルバムのリリースが決定！！
バイリンガルを生かし自身の音楽観で全世界に向けて発信している今後期待のアーティストである。
