Our Canadian cousins, The Junkies, return to SCI+TEC with a follow up to their hugely popular Monkey Biz ep from 2013. Having first featured on the label with their Au Jour Le Jour EP of 2012, the Toronto natives then rolled out the wild, animalistic grooves on the follow up. Since then the boys have not only enjoyed a hectic global touring schedule but also seen the likes of Carl Cox, Nicole Moudaber and Carlo Lio snap up new material for their labels. 3X is The Junkies latest work and sees them present a weighty double-header in the form of Mis Cue and Get Down. Vicious grooves are in abundance here as they deliver the perfect balance of darkness and light. Vocal samples and relentless beats are balanced to perfection to deliver a heavy brace with an impressive underlying level of funk.
