For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
(Joe) Becoming a father of a newly living and breathing son was nothing I've ever experienced before. Even as I was holding him for the first time, the commonly expressed quotes such as, "I feel like I have new meaning in my life" or, "this is the most beautiful moment ever" had not crossed my mind. Quite honestly, I was thinking, "wow, now this is a weird feeling. Mannn... This baby looks weird!"
But it took me an entire year to recognize that Ajedi is not just a child of ours, but an extension and continuation of our physical features, emotional baseline, and spiritual status.
God created us from the reflection of Himself (Gen 1:27). He was the standard and reference point in which over time as humans, we stained and tainted with sin. However, we originally inherited the traits of God (2 timothy 1:7). In many of the same ways, I see my traits in him, along with the family. His smile reminds me of Alena, while his inquisitiveness reminds me of myself so much. His quiet intellect reminds me of Amyah, his speedy little legs reminds me of Akyli. His gentle nature is that of Azaio, and his energetic playfulness is like that of Arazo. It's amazing how much Ajedi has grown and has soaked in. I just hope and pray that he will be the best representation of myself. I'd bet God had the same aspirations when He created mankind.
