The Birth of Chloe Elayah-Rose

Since I'm up and can't sleep. I wanna share my birth story!!!
Okay so lets play catch up!!! Remember Wednesday I was 4cm (March 5th) at my doctors appointment. And if you followed that post the doctor had told me that it would be that day or next day when I could possibly deliver. And that she would be surprised if she lasted in the womb through Saturday due to my progression.
Well Thursday I had mild pain nothing I couldn't handle. I ate dinner around 7pm and probably went to bed at midnight. Well 6am (Friday March 7th, 2014) I couldn't sleep through the pain I moaned and moaned but again nothing unbearable. Around 8am I called my sister because I could take it but I couldn't if you know what I mean. We got to the L&D around 9am and they checked me and said that I was still the same as I was at my doctors appointment (4cm) but as she went up in my cervix I went from 4cm to 3cm to 2cm and said that my cervix was narrow. My doctor called and said to send me for an ultrasound to see the placement of the baby and I was confused to why but I assumed that they were going to admit me and I would have my baby that day. But the nurse said I may not be admitted but at least this would buy time to see if I progressed in labor. After my ultrasound (an hour later) I was checked and I was 5cm I WAS ADMITTED because every hour I progressed a cm. Well after being admitted I labored and labored. Again nothing major at the time. I had practiced hypnobirthing the entire time I was pregnant. I was ready. My doctor came in maybe an hour later by this time it was 2pm and I was 6/7 cm. Still laboring not particularly myself because now the pain was different and it was unbearable but a natural labor is what I wanted and I was willing to walk out of there and say I delivered my baby naturally. My doctor came in to break my water and after that the pain became worse. Well I ended up asking for an epidural. And when the anesthesiologist came in I didn't care all I wanted was the pain to go away. I prayed and he got started. SOMETHING WENT WRONG... He couldn't find the spot he needed. That wasn't good. I knew this wasn't happening to me. He tried and tried and after three times I told him to STOP. He decided to give me a ten minute break but I told him I didn't need his services and I opted out of getting an epidural. Back to natural it was!!! What I wanted. After not progressing anymore my doctor came in and said that I needed Pitocin (another thing I was against) and in order to get it I needed an epidural. I looked at her and asked her did she think I was going to allow that guy to come back in and mess with my back. After debating it. I agreed again to the epidural but he had to administer it on my side. So they called him back. And he was in a cesarean and would be up when he could. My doctor checked me again and I was still 7cm. By this time it was 10pm. THANK GOD the anesthesiologist was in a cesarean because after she checked me my body took course and began to labor and dilate again on it's own. I began breathing my baby down and physically didn't know that's what I was doing. All I knew is I wanted to cope and deal with the pain but it hurt and if breathing down is what I needed to do and moan and scream I was because I had come to far to turn around. labored on my side the entire time, in serious pain and would not open my legs for all the medical procedure the doctors wanted to do with me. I wanted to do this on my own. The doctor explained to me that I was trapping my baby and I needed to get her out and if I didn't open my legs I would have to get a cesarean because I was trapping Chloe. I didn't want to hear that I wanted to labor on my own that's what I did. But something again came over me with that last contraction and my legs flew open and Chloe's head was right there and I didn't even know it. All I knew was my body was doing something but breathing her down through the birth canal I didn't think that was what I was doing. So I could hear my family cheering that they saw her and how she had a head full of hair. I knew that at that time I disconnected with my inner peace and I began to feel burn. So I told myself at the next contraction I needed to get my baby out and in one push she was born at 10:41pm on the 7th of March!!!
I couldn't have done this whole experience any other way. Although my laboring journey was tough if I had to do it again I would choose this route over an epidural any day. Hope this inspired my soon to be natural moms to be!!!
BTW!!! My husband didn't make the birth but his sister came in town in the rush of the day to take his place and be his support and our son cut her umbilical cord... Another thing I wanted in my birth plan... This truly was my idea labor except that my husband wasn't there to make it. But his plane came in the next day.
