Charging Fort Wagner - Glory Soundtrack - Latin Lyrics

From the film Glory, made in 1989.
James Horner compsed this piece using two previous works for major inspiration. The musical theme and style come from O Fortuna, by Carl Orff. The lyrics are pretty much copied/pasted from Dies Irae, (Day of Wrath) a poem thought to have been written by Thomas of Celano in the 13th century.

From Wikipedia: "The poem describes the day of judgment, the last trumpet summoning souls before the throne of God, where the saved will be delivered and the unsaved cast into eternal flames."

I do not understand Latin. I researched the lyrics on the internet, and fine-tuned them according to the sounds my ears could detect. I hope I have done a decent job. As the music interferes with some of the chorus, the lyrics and meaning are still somewhat open to interpretation. I highly recommend a visit to the wiki, using the search term Dies Irae. The poem is recounted there, and it illuminates the song.

This is the song heard in the cinematic trailer (USA) for the film The Professional, aka Léon: The Professional.
