happy birthday to the most tolerable person / most attractive piece of trash i know.

jokes aside, this is a gift for someone ridiculously important to me. there's little i can do to express the magnitude of that statement, so let me give you a little comparison.

imagine you are a tree, standing tall in a clearing in the forest. all you really need is some water and air -- your roots are deep and your branches bowed. many seasons and souls come and go, but you remain watching and growing. some storms make you feel a strange sense of peace, others nearly rip you apart. some springs come cold and wanting, and others burst forth at the first opportunity with the lush feeling of life.

one day, your roots meet something strange and familiar all at once: the roots of another tree.

it begins slowly, but your roots grow together. you are far apart and come from different seeds, but there is an undeniable /something/ that connects you -- underneath the rustling of leaves in the wind, the summersong of cicadas, and the fanfare of the rain there is a low hum that stirs you as if from sleep.

by some miraculous chance, you have found an answer without a question.

as for this song: i used to love it, but over the estimated 20/30 hours i put into it, i would rather swan dive into a pit of fire than keep listening. that said, i'm going to have to listen to it over and over as i endlessly criticize myself and every choice i made in this cover.

i also can't eq this for peanuts so let's....................pretend....it is supposed to be badly equalized!! on purpose.
