Hi-Revving Tongues - Rain And Tears. New Zealand music - 1969. Number one hit single in November replacing Saint Paul by Shane at the top of the charts. This was a heyday for Kiwi artists with the week prior seeing a total of seven NZ acts in the Top Ten, Shane (2), The Hi-Revving Tongues (3), The Dedikation (4), Larry Morris (5), The Fourmyula (6), The Chicks (8) & The Simple Image (9). Rain And Tears was the groups biggest hit and was a cover of the Aphrodites Child song, whose lead singer was Demis Roussos. The Hi Revving Tongues went on to win the group award in the 1969 Loxene Golden Disc.
