Birth can undeniably make us cry happy tears. It’s the single most impactful event in our lives.

We think of crying as a negative emotion. And during events that completely overwhelm us with happiness and joy, our body can cue us to happy cry.

Happy crying is 1️⃣ strong emotion being expressed in 2️⃣ different ways.
⁑
Why? Because our body becomes so overwhelmed with complete bliss and ecstasy that it triggers a negative response(crying) to counteract the strong emotions of happiness.

Her first birth was an unnecessary and completely avoidable cesarean. She sought out a different birth for her second baby. She wanted a VBAC.

And when she pushed her baby out, the sudden rush of bliss, euphoria and utter happiness rushed over her immediately, cueing the tears that are inevitable and making the most beautiful happy cry I have ever seen.
