M.M.O. is a Wu-Tang Clan affiliated rap group. The acronym usually stands for Money Makin' Operation. The group is known by many other names such as The Massive, Money Makin' Outlawz, Money Members Only and Coney Island Gangsters. TRIGG-NOMM (Trigga) & Itchy Finga Sha, two rugged emcees repping BK (Brooklyn) to the fullest. The streets are gearing up for the highly anticipated 2006 release of the debut album, We MMO, 13 tracks of pure bangers for true Hiphop heads. Itchy Finga Sha explains, A whole lotta blood, sweat, and tears went into this albumbrothers done got shotgot locked up for years. Its been a long hard struggle getting this album made. We are finally ready to take it this operation to another level. Itchy Finga Sha hails from Brooklyns hardcore Red Hook Projects and around 12 years of age, moved to Virginia with his family. He came back to NYC and settled in Coney Island where he met up with fellow MMO band mate, Trigga. Coney Island was so confinedone way inone way out. Sha explains, Our mindset was large, therefore we began to branch out into other parts of BK and get into Hiphop for real. Sha loves to bring the ruckus and he is greatly influenced by Mobb Deep & M.O.P. He also likes to listen to R&B greats such as Teddy Pendergrass, and of course, his MMO officials. Triggas biggest influences includes the late great Notorious B.I.G., Rakim, NWA, Big Daddy Kane, Tupac Shakur, and soul legend, Marvin Gaye. Coming up in Coney Island back in 1997, MMO battled plenty of emcees and soon became known for their battling prowess. It wasnt long before MMO got noticed by John Mook Gibbons (then-manager of Wu-Tang Clan). Mook believed in the crew so much that he promptly placed them on tour with the original 9 members of Wu-Tang Clan. Trigga says, Rollin with the Wu was like a dream come true! It was definitely an experience unlike no other. It was a stepping stone for us, Sha adds, We were making our bones in the game, and touring taught us to step up our performances and most of allappreciate the fans. Touring with Wu-Tang, MMO were blessed enough to open for the likes of Hiphop heavyweights such as Biggie, Busta Rhymes, and Mobb Deep (to name a few). Even though Trigga & Sha no longer roll with the Clan, the love and appreciation is still there for the legendary rap crew. Im pretty sure when our project drops, these dudes will jump behind us cause they respect our flow and struggle. Love goes out to Mook, Method Man, RZA, GZA, and Ol Dirty Bastard (R.I.P.) and all those dudes for putting us on in a major way.
