In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Kings of Leon and The Weather Channel have teamed up to create a lyric video built entirely from Earth itself. Using NASA’s Landsat program, a groundbreaking satellite initiative that has continuously captured the surface of our changing planet from space for decades, each word of the song is formed using real topographical imagery of rivers, coastlines, and mountains. Mid-way through the lyric video, the perspective shifts from these larger-than-life satellite images to intimate, archival footage of the band out in the elements. It’s a deliberate transition from the macro to the micro, taking the vastness of the world and grounding it in the small, personal moments where we actually experience nature.
Think about your favorite outdoor concert: you might forget the exact date or the time the band took the stage, but you will always remember the weather. Whether you were dancing in a downpour or dripping sweat in the summer heat, the elements are an undeniable part of the experience. This video celebrates not just what the world looks like from above, but how it feels to live in it.
