This song intrigues me, though I can't claim I know for sure exactly what parts of it are about. So this is my interpretation but it could be far from what Jane Siberry (or K.D. Lang for that matter) intended. I love the melody and the soulful way Lang sings it. For those who don't know, "burgeoning" means to begin to grow or blossom. (think spring.) However, "the staccato of the staff" is somewhat of a mystery to me. I know what staccato is in musical terms. If you have any thoughts on this please feel free to share them in your comments. While I chose to imply in this video that the relationship may be lesbian, I see no reason why the same feelings couldn't be felt in any relationship.
