The homebirth of Ember

Born safe at home, into my arms on August 26th 2017. My labor became active around 1030 at night, and she arrived Earth Side at 426am. I had about 4 days of strong prodromal labor and was in denial for hours that this was actually happening for real. Our birth team arrived one by one from 1130 until about 1am.

The atmosphere was so chill and relaxed, my midwife was even unsure if I was in active labor. That tub made all the difference 😍. Everything was so perfect. If you notice, at the end, my husband mentions we had a baby in our new basement. This is relevant because he didn't actually finish the bathroom until like, the day before I went into labor. I was so nervous...3 days prior we didnt even have a toilet and running water in there.

Every worked out and as soon as it was all done, I was in the right headspace to bring our Rainbow Baby, Earth Side.

Homebirth is magical. Homebirth is safe.
