"Ruck-zuck!" (Niel) Fritz Domina, 1934

"Quickly!", German soldiers' love song composed in 1934 by Herms Niel (1888-1954) [see detailed description for lyrics below]. Performed by Fritz Domina's Dance Orchestra (from Berlin) and sung by Kurt Mühlhardt and a male quartet. Recorded in Berlin, 1934.

Additional info: song originally has five strophes; 1st and 2nd strophe recorded. Lyrics: 1st strophe was (apparently) written by Herms Niel; 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th were copied from Wilhelm Hauff's "Steh' ich in finstrer Mitternacht" (Niel only added "auf der Alm" and "tralalalalala" between the lines). Refrain: 1st half was written by Herms Niel; 2nd half was copied (together with melody) from folk song "Wie die Blümlein draußen zittern" (a.k.a. "Ach bleib bei mir").

Note: mono recording, from I.Ž. 78rpm record collection; not to be used for commercial purposes.
