The birth of Ivy Claire (CNM-attended homebirth/waterbirth, mom catches baby)

This shows the birth of our 4th child (and our 4th home birth). Ivy was born in a birth pool after 4 1/2 hours of active labor. We've had the same nurse-midwife for our last three births.

This movie shows one contraction late in labor (about 20 minutes before my body began pushing). The rest of the movie shows the pushing stage & birth. I edited out the more "boring" parts where I was resting silently between contractions. Pushing lasted about 35 minutes total. Ivy was born around minute 15 of the video. You'll also see my three other children meet their new sister.
