The ensemble,FRANKFURT STRINGS,was established by members of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra
(hr-Sinfonieorchester)with the aim of exploring the extensive repertoire for string orchestra and performing it without a conductor.
Aspiring to a high degree of musical spontaneity,technical brilliance and exuberant enthusiasm, the members of this close-knit group work together continuously to perfect both the homogenous quality of their string timbre and their particular rehearsal techniques.
The rehearsals and performances of the ensemble are based on the principles of chamber music which includes the personal and musical commitment oh each individual musician.
FRANKFURT STRINGS,consisting of up to 15 string players,are able to perform from a wide ranging repertoire that extends from the rich compositions of the Baroque period and spans the great works of the 19th century,on into the contemporary works of the
20th century.
