Throughout the `60s, 101 Strings recorded several albums of easy listening instrumentals. But in 1968, when the space race was in full swing and psychedelia was sweeping the globe, 101 Strings let its hair down for a full-blown exotica freakout.

A version of this music was originally released in Europe in '67 with the title 'The Animated Egg'. For the US release, the producers (David Miller and Alan Sherman) gave the tracks some additional over-dubbing of spacey strings and deep-space gimmickery and released the LP as 'Astro-Sounds from Beyond The Year 2000'.
