Lexus provides a unique insight into our approach to design: the Lexus LC 500 sports coupe; the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept; a visionary partnership with film director Luc Besson and an exciting, real-life, rideable hoverboard.

Lexus LC 500
The LC 500 sports coupe exhibits an avant-garde design and is powered by a 5.0-litre, V8 engine. Inspired by the award winning LF-LC concept, the design of the LC 500 is the encapsulation of our ambition to exceed the conventions of the automotive industry.

Lexus Sports Yacht Concept
The Lexus Sport Yacht concept – for recreational day-touring and powered by twin high performance Lexus V8s with advanced styling and handling – allowed our designers to explore how Lexus’ design language could be applied to a maritime vehicle. This project stirred the team’s creative energies and pushed their imagination to design and lifestyle possibilities outside of the automotive realm that Lexus knows so well.

Lexus designers collaborated with the film’s creatives and director to build a vehicle grounded in reality but befitting of the Valerian world, set 700 years in the future. Incorporating contemporary design cues and taking adaptions of current iconic models to create the final SKYJET, the final design includes an adapted interpretation of Lexus’ signature “spindle” grille, and a similar headlight design to the hotly anticipated 2018 Lexus LC coupe.

Making the impossible possible, the Lexus Hoverboard demonstrates our desire to create enjoyment out of motion. Showcasing how true innovation and imagination can together push the boundaries of technology even further.
