Remarks:
The original title for this song was "Doctor Marvello's Love Machine".
The basic rhythm section (consisting of grand piano, drums, and synthesizer) was recorded on January 28, 1974 with Terry Brown producing and Dave Slagter engineering. The piano was later replaced by a "Fender Rhodes" electric piano.
The bell-like sounds heard at the beginning of this track were created by blending three separate stereo recordings of wind chimes: one recorded at normal tape speed, one at half-normal speed, and one at twice-normal speed. These were mixed down to a separate piece of 1/4" tape which was then spliced onto the master recording.
Similarly, in the instrumental section two separate recordings of acoustic piano were blended: one was recorded at half-normal tape speed, and the other at normal tape speed with the tape running backwards.
This single was released by the now defunct GRT Records of Canada.
