GARNET - MARIAS DESPAIR

a very long time ago, when the universe was mostly chaos and without significant form, i grabbed a lot of j-music from Bruce's FTP server. thanks btw, Bruce! of the many many gigs-worth, this particular song by GARNET became one of my favorites. i dont know who GARNET is and have never been able to find out very much about them at all, save for that there is some connection with the group KUROYUME.

i dont know if the weird lo-fi, muted sound of this particular tune is by design or just bad quality file. either way, i prefer that. it takes me to a place i like. it's a little basement bar in the future, 21XX. its called the Five of Cups. its dim and smoky, like Valhall, and the valkyrie tending bar is a cops daughter. most everyone has found their plugs for the night, but a few lonely souls are still curled up tight around a glass of Japanese whisky, slouched in the corner booth, waiting for a kind elbow to lead them back up to the city streets, the darker and colder places. theres some ageless rockabilly types in a corner somewhere, neon blue and pink diffused through carcinogen fog, eternally 3am. this is the song theyre playing.
