Billy Gales - I'm Hurting

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I made some comments about Ike & Tina Turner's version of this being much better, which some agreed with, some didn't... Linda Popcorn, love you girl, but you're wrong! [XX].

I always meant to stick this up as well so an easy comparison could be made by anyone who cared to do so... Unfortunately, time being what it is [in short supply, ostensibly] I wasn't able to, then I drifted on to the next thought and it all slipped by.

Today, however I am going to right that wrong, so here you go... Billy Gales' original '61 release of Ike Turners 'I'm Hurting'

PPS. Ike Turner produced it & played guitar on it too btw... One year later he re-recorded it for Sue Records with Tina up front & up-staging Billy Gales I still believe rather massively... were it not for that version, I would however, be singing the praises of this song 'cos in it's own right it's great... it's just the comparison with such a cracker that lets it down!

PPPS. I've also included in the so-called 'video' a shot of the other [not great] copy I have, just to illustrate different label design and also the spelling mistake with the music publishers... plastic must've been in someone's head, confusing 'Placid' into nothing of meaning.... both are real & they share identical marks etc. Can't decide which one would've been first though: you always would think the more ornate artwork is the first, BUT the demos I've seen are the mis-spelled simpler kind... maybe they're different areas rather than successive issues in the same area... if anyone cares or could shed light, please feel free...
