Jordan Sauer

Segue is Jordan Sauer from Vancouver, Canada, currently residing in Washington D.C.. His sound is minimalist patchwork of textures and tones with a focus on the interplay of timbre. These sounds are created through the blending of various instruments (12-string acoustic and electric guitar, piano, violin, melodica, various percussive drums and instruments, didgeridoo, children's toys), incidental found sounds and field recordings. Jordan has numerous releases on netlabels such as Autoplate (Thinner), Kyoto_digital, Silent Season and his own db, which he co-manages with Shane Wilson. Much of this material is based on ambient/dub/glitch soundscapes. Being a lover of all music, his approach to music/sound composition is constantly evolving. Future projects may include, but are not limited to: melodica drone, acapella experiments, ukulele/island/psychedelic/folk, dub rhythm experimentation and/or more of the same.

About Release:

Vancouver-born, Edmonton-based Jordan Sauer has been making deep and dubby techno since 2006. Former Resident Advisor Label of the Month (and his sometimes-home) Silent Season will release his next full-length effort. Sauer's music fuses ambient-leaning techno with field recordings, an aesthetic which Pacifica continues with through both conventional and beatless tracks. As with most of the label's output, the music on the LP was apparently inspired by the lush natural environment of south-western British Columbia. Pacifica was mastered by Stefan Betke
(Aka Pole) at Scape Mastering and Shane Wilson plays tabla on Snow Dub.

Silent Season is a music label influenced by our natural surroundings in British Columbia. The sounds of Silent Season grew out of the connection between deep ethereal music and the rain forests of Vancouver Island. A soundtrack to some of the most radiant and aural beauty in the world.
