Birth brings you to the edge of “I can’t do this”.

But right when those words of defeat seem to flow so easily and roll right off your tongue and onto your lips, the magic starts to happen.

Your birth song starts to fill the air.

The sound of what you thought was defeat, turns into the sound of pushing surges that takes your energy out of your thoughts and forces you to move this life, your baby, outside of your physical body.

Just when you’re at the point of break, birth offers you a token....you look down, and there, a glimpse of your baby.

And somewhere in between these 2 worlds, you gather the strength to say hello to your baby.

Maybe you thought the end would never be near, but here it is, it’s in sight, and you fiercely give it all you have.

He’s here.

You relish in your birth pause.

The realization that you did it washes over you, like the sunlight kissing your face on a cold winters day.

There’s no medals being handed out at births.
≀
And there’s no competition to crush because we as women are not competing against each other in birth.
