Shostakovich - Symphony No. 5, Finale

Released on Sony Classical Records, this is Leonard Bernstein conducting the New York Philharmonic in Symphony No. 5, composed by Dmitri Shostakovich. This is the fastest recording I have of this finale. Bernstein is known for being quite manic with his tempos. Some orchestras can handle this but I think that this piece is not only about tempo but the strain of dissonance. This piece was historically impacted and to rush through this seems unjust.
