If your body and baby are ready for birth, sometimes sex can give your body a little nudge and start labour.

Why?
❤️Having an orgasm or even just close loving contact with your partner releases the hormone Oxytocin which is what causes uterine contractions and gets the baby out.
❤️Semen has a high number of prostaglandins that help soften, or ripen, the cervix which helps it be ready for it to open when labour starts.

Sex will not work for everyone and in most cases will only work if labor was already near.

She was in labour for 30 hours and said “I only pushed for about 20 minutes and I definitely felt that ring of fire but I would do it all over again.”

You can see a brown cloud following the baby after birth. It’s meconium(baby’s first poop), it’s normal and no need for panic in most cases.
