Kristin had some early labor signs on her due date, but wasn't sure whether it was "really time" until midnight. We called our midwife at 12:15 to give her a heads up, and then again at 2:00 a.m. when we really felt that we needed her presence. Having had a 24-hour labor for her firstborn with almost 45 minutes of pushing, Kristin had no idea that this baby would arrive so much more quickly and easily! Many thanks to Eileen and her associates for making homebirth a safe choice for us, and to our friends and role models taught us to trust and embrace the birth process.
