Sie klingen wie eine durchgeknallte Kreuzung aus The B-52's, Gogol Bordello und den Dixie Chicks. Selten hat Musik so viel Spaß gemacht wie die des Frauenquartetts Katzenjammer aus Oslo. Die Musik auf ihrem zweiten Album „A Kiss Before You Go" beschreiben Anne Marit, Marianne, Solveig und Turid als „eine Mischung aus Rock, Folk, Pop und Bluegrass mit Circus Grooves und Cowboy Music". Doch Bezeichnungen für Stilrichtungen sind viel zu statisch, um die Dynamik, die bis zur Ekstase reichende Begeisterung und die überbordende Kreativität zu beschreiben, mit der Katzenjammer ans Werk gehen.
