Kendrick Lamar - Untitled 7 Disses Drake on Untitled Unmastered 07 (Drake vs Kendrick Lamar)

While Kendrick and Drake went on to trade subliminal disses in several of their 2014 releases, the duo’s beef was said to have escalated following the release of Kendrick’s collaboration for Dr. Dre’s “Darkside/Gone” in which Kendrick appears to reference Drake’s “Energy” track from the Toronto-native’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.
“But still I got enemies giving me energy, I don’t wanna fight now / Subliminally sent to me all of this hate, I thought I was holding the mic down,” Kendrick raps on Dr. Dre’s track.
Now, it appears that fans are debating over whether or not Kendrick put Drake on blast in his track “untitled 07 / 2014 – 2016” after the rapper surprisingly named Drake despite their history of swapping subliminal disses.
In part three of the track, Kendrick raps, “I gotta take it there, I ain’t even playin’ no more / Said you just make me wanna Drake you down / To the ground, to the ground ground / Like bam, bam, bam, bam, bam.”

In response to the Drake reference, some fans took to Twitter to argue that Kendrick was throwing shade at Drizzy given the fact that he addresses Drake by name for the first time in one of his songs in addition to implying that he’s going to metaphorically take Drake down as his competition.

However, other fans argue that Lamar’s new track is not actually aimed at Drake and is rather a dig at Jay Electronica, who ignited feud rumors with Kendrick last month after he claimed that “Kendrick is my son. Kendrick is my baby. Kendrick wishes that he could be me,” Pitchfork reports.
One fan argues that rather than taking aim at Drake on the track, Lamar is rather responding to Electronica’s diss while simultaneously referencing Drake’s take-down of Meek Mill in their ongoing beef from last year, explaining, “loool not at all he’s saying he’s going to do what drake done to meek ‘imma drake you down,'” while another adds, “he’s using drake to describe what he’s going to do that ain’t nothing about drake.”
What do you think of Kendrick Lamar’s reference to Drake in “untitled 07”?
